Aspen Kennedy
How did you get your start with acting?
I took a course at my university during my sophomore year at Jackson State University. The coursework for the class felt like second-nature. After the semester was over, I knew in my heart [that acting] was something I was meant to do.
In your opinion, what is your best quality as an actor?
I'm able to produce naturally-grounded performances.
Who are your acting role models?
I look up to Tom Cruise, Kofi Siriboe, Michael Ealy, and Matthew McConaughey
What risks or sacrifices have you taken as an emerging actor?
Being an actor takes a lot of courage. No matter what, I have to keep myself uplifted. There have been many times that I've faced rejection. So regarding sacrifices, I'd have to say that they are mainly emotional and spiritual. I say this because it takes a lot of faith and a lot more faith. Not getting booked for a job can be very stressful, but anyone who is on this journey must never lose sight of the desired end-result and the fact that all things work together.
What is your dream role?
In television, I'd love to become a series regular on a show similar to THIS IS US or QUEEN SUGAR. In film, I want to work in the leading role of a franchise similar to Mission Impossible or The Fast and The Furious.
What quote or motto do you live your life by?
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
“God never creates a desire in the human heart that he has not already provided its satisfaction.”
